保障人的生存和发展:生物产业发展的基本方向——以转基因生物产业为例

保障和改善民生、促进人的生存和发展是我国经济社会发展转型的出发点.转基因生物产业发展中备受争议的生物安全、人类健康、生态环境和粮食安全等问题与人的生存和发展息息相关.文章认为,转基因生物产业应以保障人的生存和发展为基本发展方向,把人的生存和发展置于首位;发展的重点应集中在技术研发上,优先重点研发和应用“非转基因”的生物技术品种,谨慎推进转基因生物产业商业化,商业化品种应以自主研发品种为主;完善立法、监测、应急体系,最大程度降低转基因生物产业发展带来的风险.     

初探三峡水库湿地面临的问题及其对策

三峡水库建成后,将成为我国最大的人工湿地,库长约650km,平均水面宽1 500m,具有脆弱性、不稳定性及其多功能性的特征;分析了三峡水库湿地面临的3个问题:水污染现状及新污染问题的预测、泥沙淤积及其发展态势、生物多样性危机及其增多的趋势;提出了保证三峡水库湿地可持续利用的措施:制定三峡湿地地方性保护法、建立国家级湿地自然保护区、加强三峡湿地重要性的宣传教育、提高公众保护意识及搞好长江上游生态恢复重建等。     

Digitalization,business models,and SMEs: How do business model innovation practices improve performance of digitalizing SMEs?

Digital transformation is requiring companies to rethink and innovate their business models (BMs). However, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have scarce time and resources for experimenting with their BMs and implementing new strategies. This paper examines whether SMEs that undergo digital transformation perform better if they allocate more resources for BM experimentation and engage more in strategy implementation. An empirical study was conducted on 321 European SMEs that actively use social media, big data, and information technology to innovate their BMs. Furthermore, structural equation modelling showed positive overall firm performance effects of more resource allocation to BM experimentation and more engagement in practices of strategy implementation. These effects were mediated by BM experimentation practices and company innovativeness. Moreover, fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) revealed the presence of equifinality by identifying different configurations in which these antecedent conditions affect overall firm overall performance. The results of two methodological approaches showed that SMEs may take different routes to improve their performance when digital transformation is changing their BM. This paper is one of the first to analyse how SMEs can handle the impact of digitalization by spending more time and effort on innovating their BMs. Practical and policy implications are discussed.     

It’s time to close the experimentation gap in advertising: Confronting myths surrounding ad testing

Marketers know that running experiments is a proven way to improve results and gain competitive advantage against rivals. Despite this knowledge—and the fact that experiments are now easier to conduct than ever before—data shows that marketers consistently under-experiment. In this article, we examine why this gap exists and what can be done to close it. We do so by connecting with senior-level marketing professionals representing seven consumer-facing industries in two phases. First, through a series of interviews, we gain initial understanding of the concerns, challenges, and realities of those working in the industry. Following this phase, we surveyed a larger group to corroborate and extend our initial findings, comparing cases to identify challenges and the strategies used to overcome them. We present our findings as a series of experimentation myths before closing with a broader perspective on how organizations can infuse experimentation into their culture.

根据染发污水与印染废水水质相似的特点，阐述了印染发废水处理技术发展现状，同时，在综述了国内外在印染废水及染料废水处理方面所取得的研究成果的基础上．通过试验考察了染发污水对生物处理的影响，表明，利用生物方法可以处理低浓度染发污水。     

Valuing the Impacts of An Invasive Biological Control Agent: A Choice Experiment on the Asian Ladybird in France

Initially used as a biological control against aphids, the Asian ladybird has become highly invasive in many regions, including Europe. While biological control is usually considered as an environmentally‐friendly alternative to chemical pesticides in controlling pests in crops, there is growing concern that these environmental benefits could be outweighed by the negative consequences of the invasion. These include (i) biodiversity losses as populations of native ladybirds suffer from intraguild predation and competition for resources; (ii) human nuisance in houses, including risks of allergy and (iii) potential losses to wine‐growers. We provide an economic valuation of environmental and private characteristics affected by the Asian ladybird's invasion. We conduct a discrete choice experiment among a representative sample of the French population. Our results show that the consequences of the Asian ladybird's introduction do affect significantly the population's welfare. Among these, the impact on biodiversity through the threat on native species appears to be a significant concern.

The Economics of Controlling Insect-Transmitted Plant Diseases

A framework is developed to analyze a spatially dependent economically significant pest problem emanating from a source and spreading via a carrier such as an insect. Transmission and/or source control to combat the pest or disease problem are explored. Alternative assumptions about the effectiveness of transmission control and the feasibility and costs, both social and private, of reduction of the pest population at the source are examined in an application of the model to controlling Pierce's disease in California wine grapes.
